Great Reopening

The UK has almost vaccinated half of its adult population and we are tantalisingly close to restrictions being eased! So, we wanted to take a closer look into how some of our business partners from different industries are planning their return to some form of normality.

We asked them a couple of questions about what they have done this year, when their industry will be allowed to reopen and what they are planning to do once they can reopen fully.

Some of them were essential shops while others had to close their doors, but they are all excited to see their customers again!

We are expecting to see a boom in trade when we reopen as we did in 2010, because people can’t go on holiday so they will be spending their money in this country and enjoying some of the finer things in life such as Cutthroat shave facials & haircuts.

The first drink at The Barber House will be on me when we reopen!

To be honest, I think we will only partially reopen at first and then fully reopen in a few months.

Leaving us plenty of time to get things back in place, reorganise our facilities, and make any changes to adhere to the new rules.

We have done deliveries over the past year to alleviate some of the effects of lockdown.

After lockdown, I believe that we will get fewer takeaway orders, especially during the summer months, as everyone will be outside. It may also be a good time for us to get involved with more festivals again.

As a business that is classified as essential, how have you been affected by the pandemic?

We were affected by the pandemic as we had to close, like most businesses, during the 1st and 2nd lockdowns. However, this time around, due to changes in the government requirements, we were allowed to remain open.

We've seen a drastically reduced footfall since being open, however, we've probably benefited this time as some of our other 'competitors' weren't even allowed to trade.

How do you think things will change, when lockdown is relaxed?

Hopefully, people will begin to shop in the same ways as they did before this all happened.
We have had to put a lot of precautions in place already, so we'll probably keep those.

Are you planning to do anything special when everything re-open?

We've got a few good ideas in mind for when we reopen, such as a collection and delivery service, new products, completely new ranges, and of course, our awesome loyalty card.
